No. If you have an active Alberta Health Care card, there is no cost for your care through Clinic 38.

Clinic 38 physician services are covered by the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan. Mifegymiso, the medication used for medication abortion, is also publicly funded for eligible Alberta residents through Alberta’s Women’s Choice Program. This means you do not need private prescription drug coverage and should not have to pay out of pocket for Mifegymiso.

Bloodwork is our way to keeping you safe. We do not routinely order ultrasounds. Your bloodwork and dating history provide a lot of information.

Also, some abnormal pregnancies (such as molar pregnancy, multiple gestations, ectopic pregnancy etc.), can have abnormal B-hCG, and require different treatments.

Surgical abortion refers to the procedure of Aspiration. The pregnancy is suctioned out by a healthcare provider instead of being passed by your uterine cramps.
